Kapasitas Penyimpanan Karbon Hutan Tanaman dan Pola Agroforestri di Sulsel dalam Konteks Mitigasi Perubahan Iklim

AgnesSensei.com — Perbandingan kemampuan penyimpanan karbon untuk berbagai jenis penggunaan lahan, baik di dalam maupun di luar kawasan hutan, perlu dilakukan untuk memprediksi kemampuannya dalam menghadapi program mitigasi dan adaptasi perubahan iklim di Indonesia.

Data dasar lokal perlu diketahui karena pertumbuhan vegetasi sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lingkungan lokal.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan kemampuan penyimpanan karbon pada hutan tanaman pinus dan pola agroforestri di dataran tinggi.

Metode penelitian dilakukan secara purposif dengan menentukan plot sampel yang dianggap representatif untuk jenis penggunaan lahan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan menyimpan karbon di atas tanah antara hutan tanaman pinus sebesar 86,80 ton/ha dan pola agroforestri sebesar 56,14 ton/ha.

Demikian pula perbandingan kapasitas penyimpanan karbon di atas dan di bawah tanah.

Comparison between the ability of carbon storage for various types of land use, both inside and outside forest areas, needs to be done in order to predict its ability to deal with climate change mitigation and adaptation programs in Indonesia. Local baseline data need to be known because each vegetation growth is strongly influenced by local environmental conditions. This study was conducted to compare the ability of carbon storage in pine plantations and agroforestry patterns at high altitudes. The research method was carried out purposively by determining sample plots that were considered representative of the type of land use. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the ability to store aboveground carbon between pine plantations of 86.80 tons/ha and agroforestry patterns of 56.14 tons/ha.
